I’ve been playing flute for about five months and have slowly progressed my way through the Suzuki Flute 1 book. I’m moving on to the Bourrée at the end of book 1, but I wanted to document my improvement on my most recent piece, Bach’s Minuet in G Major. I still struggle with phrasing because I always feel like I run out of air and have to breathe hurriedly. My lung capacity isn’t very large! As I move on to the Bourrée, I’m hoping to phrase better and maintain breath support for a longer period of time.

I’m a new music teacher just looking to explore everything related to making and teaching music. I’ve been interested in blogging for a while, and really just wanted to sit back and start a blog about everything I’m slowly learning about teaching music. I’m new to the medium but am excited to figure it out and have fun sharing my progress with other people!

I don’t know exactly what I’ll be writing about yet, but I just want to share interesting ideas about music teaching with other people in addition to sharing my progress on a variety of secondary instruments and any teaching techniques I stumble upon that seem successful.
